This hotel was so much more than anything I could have dreamed of. The Barfield was tastefully decorated Decorated in a mixture of antique and new western, so much I could hardly take it all in!! Extra touches everywhere, down to the cowhide on the wall, and the six shooters inlaid in the floor. The bathrooms had a large walk in shower, and the most beautiful tile, almost a fabric tile!! I’m so angry at myself for not taking photos of our room! Ask for number 801, a corner king, with such beautiful furnishings, I felt I had stepped back in time, and visiting at the beautiful home in Giant!! The only difference was that was fake, The Barfield is real!! I haven’t even told you about the Speakeasy in the basement!!

We stayed at this hotel overnight in February 2023 on a recommendation of a family member. The hotel is a new restoration and update of an older business building. It is really appealing and interesting historically with great attention to detail. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is more expensive (not unusual for downtown hotels with upscale service), but a great value in Amarillo. There is a lively street scene with walkable fun restaurants, especially if you want southwest food. We recommend Braceros.

Beautiful hotel in great location. Room was excellent and perfectly equipped. I also want to mention the outstanding customer service. Our room clean and replenish was not done. The manager of the property personally came to explain why and was incredibly gracious and kind. We’ve stayed at many hotels across the US and Europe and were very impressed by his customer focus. I would definately recommend this hotel.

When I made reservations, Jo at front desk assisted me with our stay. She was fantastic! Room, breakfast and supper were excellent. The gentleman making omelets for breakfast was super friendly. All Staff were very attentive. The Speak Easy bar was fun. We spent the last evening at hotel on the 2nd floor patio and it was a beautiful evening.

Centrally located so plenty of places to eat and visit while there. They have a late night menu after the hotel's restaurant closes which is great for us night owls. The provided Internet is High-Speed Internet, which was a first for us, was getting about 90mbps down and up.
